Trump is a Fraud. Mitt Romney.

A great post.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-03-04/mitt-romney-leads-old-guard-in-condemnation-of-donald-trump/7219376

In the meantime the book ‘Almost There’ is bubbling away. The latest an issue on registering it with CreateSpace. There is an issue of US taxation. No matter how I fill in the envelopes and how often I click, Australian registration doesn’t seem to work. Still, there is no hurry. The book is not ready.

Are there any secrets to the US taxation?

Excellent post. Yes, we are sunk as a nation to the lowest level if Trump is elected. He is a bullying buffoon.

What a farce this US campaign is turning out to be. It’s like a reality TV show. Ugh.

This is the biggest joke of an election I have ever seen. It’s an insult to democracy. As much as I understand peoples anger, I do not understand selling out values and character.

Trump, while wearing the mask of sanity is a psychopath. He delights in and gets gratification out of belittling his opponents. There is no respect, only insults and demeaning assertions.
He wants his opponents to be assaulted and carried out on a stretcher.
He reeks of a Hitler. A Krystall-Nacht proponent.

The outcome of this election is truly frightening. We are damned if we do and damned if we don’t. Trump is a bully who has mesmerized the poorly educated and underprivileged, and excels at schoolyard rhetoric. He plays on people’s fears. With Hillary we know we would get Obama again, with Trump, even he has no idea.

I was determined to watch last night’s “debate” (which isn’t a debate at all, of course) and finally checked out after Trump started describing his (ahem) “personal characteristics.” The man is unhinged; there’s no question about it.

Most worrying is his assertion that he’ll demand the military obey clearly illegal orders. This is a man who would blow up the world, just because he could. He needs to be stopped.

As for American taxation, here’s one answer: they’ll take as much as they can, as often as they can, in whatever way they can. Every year they get more, and the debt continues to explode, as our elected officials refuse to rein in spending. So it goes.

I have a ‘Tax exemption’ status in Australia which means our income is below the taxable level. Of course, all other taxes s a GST or VAT, road taxes and many more are paid by everyone including those on a pension.

I am a ridiculous fool, somewhat vain to even consider selling any books that would incur US taxation in the first place.

I can just picture myself, at the crack of dawn, clicking on my account at Amazon to check if any books have been sold yet.

‘No, not yet dear,’ I’ll shout downstairs. ‘May be tomorrow?’

Of course, the friendly Japanese windflowers are nodding outside, making it all worthwhile.

Very scary times with Trump at the helm. If you are trying to fill in a UStax form, I printed mine out wrote on it and scanned and emailed it.otherwise you loose a lot of money in withholding tax.

Thanks for the advice. Books sold through Amazon etc. don’t give a huge return to the author. I would be ecstatic if someone wants to buy my book in the first place. There would be dancing on the table at this household. Can you imagine?

What a load of tosh from Romney and the whole GOP self created mess. The truest words said recently by a Republican came from Senator Lindsey Graham “My party’s gone batshit crazy!”

Good luck with your US tax!

Yes, I too get the feeling that the republicans are a bit like our own ‘Liberal-National’ party. Forever keen to keep business to the few chosen at the expense of the majority.
The rich get richer, and the poor eat gruel.
I have an American friend, a good one, who will try and steer me through the maze of US tax. Your exclamation mark made me worry. 😉

US taxation is black magic. I jumped through many hoops following a blow by blow instruction in another blog. I still don’t know if the forms I filled in and the numbers I got over the phone to America work or not. I sell too few books to work it out. And it has changed recently. Find an Australian blog with precise instructions for Indie authors and follow every letter. Best of luck!

Yes, I do look at all options, Hilary. It makes be dizzy. The form that I filled in on-line, keeps rejecting me and that’s before the book is even there.
I am now getting the back page blurb re-written by my daughter who was, together with Helvi, critical of what I had written. It was ‘yukky’, they both said.

A pity Romney doesn’t have the kind of track record to make him a credible authority – on anything.

Helvi told me Romney is a Mormon Bishop and during his stay In France, studying the Mormonistic faith had a good record of getting repeat returns on his skills as a door-knocker.

Well, that does it for me. He also appears to be a terminal materialist.

I get those smiling door-knockers too. Perfectly teethed and broadly smiling.Well dressed, trying to convert me. I have too toughen up because next I might get dragged into a river, dunked and baptised.

They call themselves ‘sisters and elders’ and hold ‘cottage meetings.’

If you you are not a US taxpayer and sell books in the US, then you will be subject to a ‘withholding tax’. They keep your money till you can demonstrate that you have a hole in your pocket. I have filled in forms twice and still have no idea whether or not I have avoided this tax. I think the pourpoise of the forms is to show you are paying tax upfront in another jurisdiction which they recognise – but I could be wrong.I find the whole thing incomprehensible.

I am glad about anyone confessing to ‘incomprehensible’. Till now it felt so lonely a position.
Anyway, I don’t care anymore. Amazon has all the taxation issues in place for the Uk and most of Europe but not for Australia.
I keep clicking and press ‘submit,’ but it just refuses and undrelines with red some kind of ‘how to fix it’.
In any case, I am jumping my own excecution, the book hasn’t even apperead yet.
I am almost inclined to buy my own book just to cheer me up and even pay the tax.
      Does it matter?

Forgot to mention that the Donald is not barred from the UK. MPs had a debate on this issue and may have voted on it too, but their vote carried no legal weight in such a matter.
