A Finger’s journey and our garden.

Can it get any better?

Can it get any better?

We are going to the Eco village in Queensland for a week or so. There is an air of High Excitement. Milo will be taken to the ‘ Doggy-Hotel’ of which he is as yet unaware. There are no pets allowed where we are going.

I do hope to be able to use my lap-top but no guarantee, especially not since a finger packed it in.

The finger

The finger

The doctor reckoned it would just ‘go away’ after a couple of days. It would ‘drain itself’, but it did not. I took myself to emergency at the local hospital. Here is my finger at the hospital.

Within minutes I was taken in and after a few medical inquiries was whipped onto a bed. I asked if I could take my shoes off but that wasn’t necessary. Here I am on the stretcher and you can see my RM William boots at the end of the bed. I was given local anaesthetics  on both sides of the crook finger. I am fine now with the finger having been drained.

Finger seconds before being cut open. Notice my RM Williams!

I just felt like balancing this piece by giving you a look at what Helvi has achieved in the garden. It has never been more beautiful.

The garden from inside.

Notice Milo tucking into his food.

Just glorious.

Just glorious.

Glad to see all is well. Dr. A fell and hit head (Charlie tripped him up.) banged it on sidewalk. Airlifted him to neuro surgery across the bay and drilled a hole in skull to drain. You boys have to more careful.
Meanwhile, daughters coerced us to sell bifg house where we have lived for over 40 years and move to So. Calif. to be closer to them. Bought house half this size which we have not seen except in photos.

Big madhouse going on here. Seems as if you are the same. Hope all keeps well for all of us.

Oh dear, we both wish Dr A well. Please give him our love and best wishes. Moving house is difficult but hope it will all move smoothly. One reason why H doesn’t want to move again. We are a hundred metres from 2 hospitals and heli- pad in the local park.

Keep well, Kayti. Our Milo does move about a lot when walking, often worry he will trip one of us over. Naughty Charlie. naughty boy!

OK, I’ve changed my mind. You can’t go and live ANYWHERE where Milo the JRT is not allowed. I have spoken.
    Your finger was obscene.

Yes, I felt a bit dodgy about posting pictures of my finger, but you know, it became a bit of a challenge to get reactions. A bit like schade freude.
Yes, a big no no for Milo at the Eco Village. Noticed first Christmas decorations at Big W. How depressing.

So you may only visit your rellies there: you may not move there. I am about to post again ! – regarding my own living place. Well, when I say ‘about to’, it’ll be some time this week.

Can’t wait for your posts again, and so will many others. Hope you got you living space sorted. Did you kick him/her in the groin or just kneed her/him?

I always thought you would give us all the finger one day. 🙂 Glad you went and got it taken care off. I didn’t see Milo in the picture, what makes me think I should make an eye appointment…or maybe not believe you. I will think it through.

I think you need a new MD if indeed he/she said your finger did not need draining. Your finger looked pretty dang bad by the time you got to ER. I’m glad your finger will soon be all better.\

Helvi has a knack for making everything look better. The garden is lush with beautiful vegetation. I do believe that Milo will probably be pleased to go to the doggy hotel. I think I remember from a post in the past that he had a greand time playing with other dogs and soaking up attentiom from new people.

Have a nice and restful trip.

Oh, MD’s are changed all the time. Last time I had a doc even older than me. He seemed to drift off while looking at my heart-diagram. I only see one if I am sick which is seldom.
Milo will have a whale of a time and is well liked where he is going. Last time they put a pink jacket on him .He looked so masculine.
He gets his daily chicken neck as well.

I’d say you had more pain than just “a bit irritating”. You must be a stoic. Enjoy Queensland!

Yes, just about ready to go. Hope there are no thousands of trucks with ‘logistics written on their tarpaulins or..here comes another ‘Fox’. Finger is still wrapped up but feeling better. How was your move? Are you missing your ‘swamp’? 😉

The move went well, and I felt ‘at home’ very quickly, thanks. No, I don’t miss the swamp, especially when friends tell me about the continuing tropical weather up there. Funny how the tropics do that, eh?

Good luck avoiding the trucks, mate.

Oh that looks sore! I hope it is better now. Love the way you diverted our attention from the RM Williams to the garden! And it is magnificent. ( the garden not the shoes, although I suppose they are pretty good too!)

I’m glad your finger is fixed but wonder what caused this in the first place? As for Queensland, I have just heard about the colossal coal mine!

    • gerard oosterman Says:

Yes, so much for the greening of Australia. Fortunately, coal prices are at rock bottom and it might not go ahead. The finger got badly infected, perhaps from washing-up the dishes. It will lose its nail, but that’s better than a finger gone..
